New Volunteer Orientation (NVO)

USS Hornet Museum

Interested in helping with airplanes, restoration, security, tours, events, or administrative assistance? Orientation is usually held the first Saturday of each month (except where noted) from 9:30am–11:30am. Private NVO’s by appointment only. Invite a friend to attend! Non-Denominational Services

USS Hornet Museum

Non-Denominational Services are held each Sunday at 1:00 PM in the Ship's Chapel & Library on the 2nd deck, amidships. Dr. Wallace Whatley, a retired US Navy Chaplain and local resident, replaces the USS Hornet Museums' original chaplain, John Berger who passed away last July. Everyone is invited and welcome. Chapel attendees may board the ship without paying the usual admittance fee. Donations are optional and appreciated.

History Mystery “After-Hours” Tour

The History Mystery Tour offers a unique chance to tour the USS Hornet after hours and learn the history of this incredible ship while she is illuminated in the red lights used for “night ops.” We’ll go deep into Hornet where you will also hear the stories behind her legendary haunts. Will we be alone in the dark? Book now and find out! The three-hour guided tour begins at 7:00pm and costs $35 per person ($30 for members). Reservations Required: (510) 521-8448 x224

History Mystery Overnight Investigation

Sleep among the spirits as you spend the night onboard after touring the USS Hornet exclusively in small groups after hours. Investigate the historic aircraft carrier’s well-known “paranormal hot spots” while she is illuminated in the red lights used for “night ops.” Will we be alone in the dark? Book now and find out!
