Step Back into Technology!
New STEM program designed for Grades 8-12th highlighting the unique vocations onboard an aircraft carrier!
This exciting new day program uses the ship as a platform for teaching numerous STEM subjects onboard Hornet. You and your class are invited to experience science like never before as you tour the ship and Step Back into Technology through hands on learning!
Classes may choose 1 of the below subjects to explore during your tour!
Subject focus and Locations:
- Camouflage History and Design “Hidden in Plain Sight”
- Internal Combustion Engines “To Spark or Not to Spark”
- Triangulation Navigation “Turn Left at Hawaii”
- Codebreaking “It’s All About the Slang”
- Aircraft Wind Aerodynamics “Tortoise VS Hare”
Program Rates
For groups larger than 50 people or smaller than 15, additional docent fees may apply. Docent fees also apply on the weekends.
