Who will be playing?

The USS Hornet Band, The Swinging Blue Stars, and some surprise guests we aren’t permitted to announce

What activities are planned for the evening?   A USO styled dance for and with the troops

Tickets are $25.00 in advance, $30.00 at the door-

Are there any discounts on ticket purchases?   Museum members receive a $5 discount on each ticket. Please call the Membership Department to receive your promo code: 510-521-8448 x 238 or please email jenny.meyer@uss-hornet.org for member code or to become a member

Are tickets tax-deductible?   The dances are a major fundraiser for the Museum and approximately 20% of the ticket price is tax-deductible.

 How can I order tickets?

Please note: All ticket orders will be placed on the Will Call list; no physical tickets will be mailed out. There will be a Will Call check-in list at Admissions.

Will tickets be available at the door?   If the event is not sold out, the cost at the door will be $35 for Adults. Museum members receive a $5 discount on each adult ticket and a $3 discount on youth tickets

Are tickets refundable?   This is a fundraiser for the USS Hornet Museum; refunds cannot be honored.

 How is the seating arranged? Is there any reserved seating?   All seats are General Admission — seating is available on a first-come basis on the night of the event.

 Is a meal included in the price of the ticket?   Food and drink are not included in the ticket price, but a great selection of food can be purchased at a food concession at very reasonable prices. The menu choices include hotdogs, sandwiches, burritos, and nachos. The food concession will be available 7:30pm–11:00pm and the bar will be open until 12:00am.

Is there a bar? How much do drinks cost?   There will be several cash bars on the main deck selling both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Beverage prices range from $2.00 for sodas to $10.00 or more for alcoholic drinks.

 How should I dress?   Comfortable layers for the afternoon viewing of the Blue Angels taking off…We encourage uniforms and cocktail attire for the evening.

 Does the ship go anywhere?   No, the ship does not move. The engines do not function and the ship remains permanently tied to the pier.

What time should I be there?   The gates open at 1:00pm. The Blue Angels take off at about 2:30pm. Enjoy our museum until 5pm, with dancing starting in the evening. The doors will remain open for arrivals until 9:30pm.

 How late does the evening go?   The entertainment will end at 11:00pm.

Is there plenty of parking? How much does it cost?   There is plenty of FREE parking across the street from the pier.

 Is there an ATM machine onboard?   No. You’ll need to bring cash for the concessions.

 Are children allowed?   During the day with supervision, the event in the evening is geared towards adults.

Is this a safe and secure event?   Yes. We have plenty of security personnel to provide a comfortable, reassuring and safe evening for everyone aboard.

 Will the ship be heated?   Yes, there will be heating aboard ship if the weather requires it. Please keep in mind that this is a large ship and can be drafty. We recommend that you bring a wrap or light sweater.

 How do I get to the ship?   Directions will be mailed with the tickets. Directions can also be accessed on our website at: http://www.uss-hornet.org/visit/car/. For online map systems, our zip code is 94501 and we are at the corner of W. Hornet Ave and Ferry Point Way.
