Over 15,000 students a year come aboard not only to learn about the history of the aircraft carrier USS Hornet, WWII, and the Apollo mission, but also participate in our highly-regarded STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). In addition, we have thousands of children from youth groups such as the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts participating in our Live-Aboard overnight programs.

Our mission as a historic ship museum reaches beyond our stake-holders, through our visitors, and to the greater community that supports our work. Please help us continue to educate our impressionable youths about the sacrifices and work of the Greatest Generation. Your gift can inspire future generations to follow their dreams, serve our country as a sailor, or become a scientist or an astronaut!

Hornet’s distinguished sailing days are behind her, but today she is still proudly afloat, keeping history alive and sharing valuable lessons with all who visit.
