The USS Hornet is hosting our 3^rd annual Model Expo. Technically last year was supposed to be the 3rd annual but COVID happened. Anyways, we are back and better than ever!

This event is being run with the International Modeler’s Society and the International Plastic Modelers’ Society (Alameda Ca). Stay tuned for more information.

There will be a model contest, tours of the ship, an open cockpit and more.

Things you need to know about Model Expo 2021

· Vendor load on is from 0800-1000.

· Model registration is 1000-1200.

· The event runs from 1000-1600.

· No parking on the pier except for Ships Staff, Handicapped and pre-authorized vendors. All others must park in the parking lot in front of the ship.

· You may drive up to elevator 3 man lift and unload large loads of models, but you must return your car to the parking lot in front of the ship.

· If you are comfortable handle smaller models while going up our entry brow then do so.

· If you drop off multiple models on elevator 3, you will be given a numbered ticket for your models that must be used to redeem your models on elevator 3 once you have gone through admissions. Nobody will be allowed to ride the man lift with their models.

· Entrance to the ship will be through the entry brow (First stairway up to the ship).

· Entry fee is $20.00 per person. This supports the ship and the museum. A $1.00 per model entry fee will be charges at the time of model registration in Hanger Bay 3. Display only models will not be charges.

· Raffle tickets are purchased near the registration table.

· Food will be available

· Keep your receipt on you at all times. This proof of admission should you have the need to leave the ship for any reason and return.

The Contest:

· Conducted under IPMS rules. They can be viewed at news.ipmsusa3.org.

· No prior IPMS National award winners are allowed.

· No Legos are allowed unless on display only.

· Judges and contest officials may have to move your model for category adjustments or other reasons.

· Patience at all levels will be most appreciated.

· No downloading of models or vendors breakdowns until the completion of the awards ceremony. Please be patient.

Vendors:

· All vendors will be issued wristbands to two individuals only, the main vendor and one assistant

· Vendors must park at the West end of the pier once you have finished unloading.

· No downloading will be allowed until the end of the awards ceremony.
