It was a great trip and the docents do a fantastic job with the tours while also protecting this important part of our history.

Tour Tips

The Museum is mostly self-guided. A Museum Map is available at the Admissions Desk with some basic ship information as well as various locations you can visit!

Talk to the many volunteers throughout the Museum! Our docents have a wealth of information and will be available for conversation and to lead you on tours (Tour tickets are available at Admissions) to various parts of the ship!

Children under 16 years of age must be with an adult at all times as our ship is large with many compartments and passages.

Our ladders are steep going between decks so for your safety we ask you not to bring aboard bags that exceed 12 x 8 x 12 inches. We recommend that all oversize bags remain in your vehicle, though lockers are available for rent at the Admissions Desk.

Cameras are welcome but must have neck or wrist strap. Personal photography is allowed throughout the ship though the Museum does not allow professional equipment without advanced reservations through our Event Inquiry Form.

Wear comfortable, closed-toed walking shoes as most all of our decks are made of steel and there is a lot of ship to see! Consider layers as some parts of the ship can be cold regardless of weather.

Flashlights are required for some of our specialty tours, including our History Mystery tours, so make sure to bring a good one with fresh batteries!
