Dean “Diz” laird, Navy legend, has passed away at the age of 101. He was most famous for the fact that he was the only Navy Ace from WW2 who shot down both German and Japanese aircraft. He was also the lead stunt pilot in the movie Tora! Tora! Tora!
Diz has long been a friend of the USS Hornet and he will be missed
