Laura Fies, Executive Director of the USS Hornet Museum invites you to join the USS Hornet as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.

We will be focusing on the war in the Pacific and on the cooperation between China and the United States (The Doolittle Raid, Flying Tigers, Carrier Raids in the Pacific and more). We will have special presentations, exhibits and much more!

The agenda for the day will be as follows:

10:30am – 11:00am Opening ceremony and VIP speeches Main Stage in Hangar Bay 3
11:00am – 12:00pm USS Hornet Presentation Main Stage in Hangar Bay 3
12:00pm – 1:00pm Awards and Break for lunch
1:00pm – 4:45pm Panel discussions

Panel 1: Reflection: U.S.-China Wartime Cooperation and Its Lessons

Panel 2: Enduring Memories: War Stories by Descendants of WWII Veterans

Panel 3: Exhibits & Memories: Mission & Future of WWII Museums

Panel 4:  Youth & Peace: H ow the New Generation Will Carry the Torch of Peace

4:45pm – 6:00 pm dinner and social Main Stage in Hangar Bay 3
6:00pm – 7:30pm Closing Ceremony and Performances (Music, Dancing, and Fashion Show) in Hangar Bay 3

We will have Pacific themed food vendors with food available for purchase (full lunch/appetizers int he evening).

Tickets:

$40 for adults

$25 for Seniors/Military

$20 for Students/Children

Free for Children 6 and under

This follows our successful artifact exchange in April with the Doolittle Raid Memorial Hall in Quhzou China.
