Please join the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum as we observe the 75th anniversary of VJ Day. On August 15th, 1945, the Japanese transmitted their surrender to the United States and World War II essentially ended.

If you come to the ship that day, you will see:
- Our friends at the American Armory Museum (https://americanarmorymuseum.org/) will be bringing some of their World War II vehicles which will be parked on the pier next to the ship (11 AM – 4 PM)
- The Walking Ghosts of Black History will have a small exhibit in Hangar Bay 3 highlight some African-American History during World War II (All Day)
- The Nisei Exhibit (442nd Combat Regiment) will also set up a small exhibit in Hangar Bay 3 for you to see (All Day)
- Our docents will be on hand to answer any of your questions about World War II and the USS Hornet’s role in that conflict. (All Day)

- The Swingin’ Blue Stars will be on hand to regale you with hits from the 40s to the 60s (Starting at Noon)
