MUSIC LINE UP

Hanger Bay 2: The Hornet Band

Main Stage Flight Deck Band Line Up!

2:30 pm-3:30 pm: The M-Tet (Jazz/Funk)
Oakland’s Hammond-heavy instrumental quartet, The M-Tet, is quickly becoming Northern California’s go-to band. Having recently opened for Lee Fields & The Expressions, The Sugarman 3, Monophonics, and Matador! Soul Sounds (members of The New Mastersounds, Soulive, and Pimps Of Joytime), The M-Tet shows no sign of stopping.

4:00 pm-5:00 pm: Matt Jaffe (Rock/Indie – Tom Petty Tribute)
Matt started taking music (a little bit) more seriously when Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads offered to produce his first record. Since then, Matt has churned out more songs than he can remember the words to (opening for the likes of Mavis Staples and Jackie Greene), and collaborated with the likes of Chuck Prophet and Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T’s. Having toured the country playing places like The Fillmore and your local hipster’s basement, Matt is newly located to Alameda and bringing the guitar gospel back to the masses.

5:30 pm-6:30 pm: Aki Kumar (Chicago/West Coast Blues)
Vintage Bollywood meets Windy City Blues and Soul in a powerful ever-evolving musical vindaloo created out of the heart and soul of this acclaimed singer/harpist. Kumar has performed at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival, has been featured on PRI “The World,” and has toured in Russia and Scandinavia. A huge hit at 2017 Alameda Blues, Brews & Blues – we welcome Aki back to the Island!

6:30 pm-7:00 pm: Zydeco Dance Lesson with Dane DeSimone from SFZydeco

7:00 pm-8:00 pm: Andre Thierry & Zydeco Magic (Zydeco/Soul)

Andre Thierry’s music creations are intoxicating and timeless. Enjoy the unfolding of this charismatic, rising artist as he vibrates Accordion Soul with stimulating beats, attracting any music lover to the dance floor! True to his culture and love of music, he has crafted a career well beyond his years as an artist. Andre’s French Creole heritage is deeply rooted in Louisiana although he was born and raised in Northern California. At a very young age, he embarked on a path with distinct knowledge and extraordinary talents.
The Washington Post called Andre “A master at pumping out fast, funky rhythms on an instrument not usually associated with earthy syncopation. A versatile student of the music, Thierry can’t be lumped into Zydeco’s old-school R&B-influenced camp or its nouveau, rap-inspired one: He and his band, lay down both soulful, traditional slow-dances and bottom-end-booming kinetic groovers.”

Please note that all tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE.
